This And That

For the first time another blog author has asked me to post on her site "Dirty Little Secret". To me this is a tremendous honor as her blog is easily one of my favorite mental health sites and it is full of such courage and strength tackling issues most people would not go near.

I received an email today from the author of "In My Heels" which reminded me of why I continue to share my story with others. "In My Heels" is a self improvement site like no other and deserves a whole lot of attention.

Well it has been awhile since I updated the effort put into Entrecard and even though I no longer drop the maximum amount of cards it is still a good source of traffic and has brought a lot of people over here who have decided to stick around. For a while I was advertising on the cheapest sites I could find and it was working alright but something of the process was bothering me so I changed the way I use Entrecard. From now on if someone wishes to advertise on my blog they need to be a somewhat consistent dropper and I am no longer going to post my card on sites I barely look at. I am sure this may effect the numbers but the new outlook sits better with me. Plus I have well over ten grand in credits sitting in my dashboard so I am not exactly hurting.

The blog roll has taken on a new look which should be easier to navigate plus the addition of a couple more sites.

A Week With Entrecard

So it has been roughly a week since I joined the Entrecard program and here are the important numbers so far:
- Dropped 2364 cards on other people blogs, roughly 300 a day
- 855 cards were dropped on my blog
- 849 clicks from Entrecard to me
- 150 clicks from the 5 adds I bought

As you can see the traffic has been pretty good overall but the best part is the type of people who are coming to my corner of the web tend to stick around for awhile and a number have signed up to the feed.

Their have been a couple of problems. The main one being I signed up for about 15 to 20 different other blogs to advertise on but only 5 have agreed for whatever the reason. The other problem is once you past the two hundred card drop finding other blogs on can be time consuming and turns into a weird form of the memory match game we use to play as kids.

Overall I am pretty happy with this program and would recommend it to people who are new to the game and trying to get their blog out there. Take care

The Continuing Saga

For those of you keeping up a few days ago I had called my family doctor to get in to see him and the receptionist said she would try to get me in that day or the day after. Well they never called so when I called back on Thursday I found out the office was closed for the next week. So I decided I would just live with the sore tooth. Last night I kept repeatedly waking up as when the one tooth was hit the pain would jar me back awake. I found a walk in clinic and after a two hour wait saw the doctor on staff who after a brief examination declared the tooth was infected. Great another problem and yet another med to add to the list. On a positive note the walk in doctor was friendly and professional.

A steady traffic is coming in from Entrecard, nothing overly massive but enough to encourage me to keep dropping off more cards plus my subscription number has been steadily increasing which is always a bonus. The majority of my traffic is still from stumbleupon but that is really not a surprise.

The Entrecard Experience So Far

It has been about forty eight hours since I joined Entrecard, heck it could be less then that, so I figured I might as well give a brief report on what I think so far.

The traffic so far has been alright but between mybloglog and Entrecard it is hard to tell which one is more accurate. Entrecard is saying 157 clicks came to me but I am not sure if that means to my profile or my actual blog.

The best part is I am discovering some amazing sites out there that I had never heard of before. Next week I will create another report and hopefully by then I will have figured out the traffic stats and the best way to use this particular program. take care.

Entrecard

A number of people have mentioned that the Entrecard program is worth a shot so I finally relented and joined. Doesn't cost anything which is always good and at the same time it introduces you to a number of fellow bloggers that normally you would not find. Anyway the ad is up and we will wait to see whether or not it will stay that way. I think I should have waited a bit before lining up the ads for the next week or so but I guess it is too late now. Anyone really like this program or hate it? You know what to do.
